Busted 523 YFZ450 (12/02/09) - Drain plug.
So, after the episode of getting less than 2 hours on the 523 MAX RPM IceCube, I pulled it apart and lok what I found.
The REAR of the cylinder is all scored from the piston scraping it. The rings are toast, and the piston is now junk. Great result.

Oil from the can and from the engine.
Can you tell which came from where?
Light - Oil can
Dark - Engine
Busted 523 YFZ450 (12/02/09) - Valvetrain = OK.
No apparent issue with the valve train.
Busted 523 YFZ450 (12/02/09) - Cam timing = OK.
Cam timing appears to be set correctly.
Crank appears correct at TDC as well. [2]
Busted 523 YFZ450 (12/02/09) - Cylinder looks all sparkly = NOT OK.
Cylinder has little flecks of aluminum resting on it. Luckily the valves did not hit and the top looks fine..
Busted 523 YFZ450 (12/02/09) - Cylinder wall = NOT OK.
The cylinder wall is all scraped up at the back of the engine, (not the front).
